Sir Gallahop was removed from a negligent owner with 55 horses. This case was so bad that 40 cattle and at least one horse died on the property. When Bluebonnet first saw Sir Gallahop's hoof and leg, they thought he would need to be euthanized. But! Sir Galahop showed them he could get around well and they want to give him a chance. In addition to his bad hoof, he has ulcers (NO SURPRISE) so he is being treated for both.
Sir Galahop will need a halter and lead rope (blue, please!) - this breakaway halter is $36.95 and the woven cotton lead rope is$12.95. He is currently eating Purina Equine Senior (three 50 lb bags would be $85.47 from Tractor Supply). Of course, a Tractor Supply gift card works too!
Most importantly, BEHS could use contributions toward the farrier ($55 per visit) and to the extensive vet costs ($2,500, but any amount towards Equine Mobile Veterinary Services would be so welcome).
THANK YOU to Suzanne B. Lynn A., Irene J., Tango S., Mojo S., Dianne E., and Barbara D. for helping give Sir Galahop a new life! $399 more would make a huge difference!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
