Godon came to Bright Futures Farm in 2013 when his owner, Chuck, passed away. After all the time and effort Chuck had given to the farm for which he worked, his employers didn’t want to look after Godon and were threatening to get rid of him if he didn’t find a home. Of course, when Bev of Bright Futures Farm was told about Godon, she offered him a home. Godon is a Mechlenburger gelding who was trained to fourth-level dressage and did show jumping. He worked hard for many years - too hard, and as a result, he sustained considerable damage to his hind fetlocks and hocks. Godon wears special shoes for extra support and is given Equioxx for for the arthritis in his joints. One (prescription) bottle costs $276 and will last 6 months. Of course, Godon will need daily Equioxx for the rest of his life.
$225 more would provide Godon with a whole year of Equioxx! THANK YOU to Julianne L., Suzanne B., Irene J., Mojo S., Tango S., Lisa B., Dianne E., Dustin F., Darlene S., Bonnie L., and Jamie G. for helping Santa put some Equioxx on the sleigh for Godon!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
