Jasper is an American Saddlebred that wound up in bad circumstances. The vet who met him after he was rescued said noted that the right Ilium of his pelvis had been fractured off at some point, with possibly a portion of the sacrum. This caused atrophy of the right gluteal muscle. Jasper's tongue had numerous lacerations - possibly from a tin can in his hay? However, proper farrier care and exercise has helped this handsome boy tremendously!
Jasper knows the farrier has to come on a consistent basis and that it's pretty expensive (but SO worth it!). He is asking for funds for farrier care for himself and the other TIER residents. Their farrier charges $70 for a trim, $135 for half shoes. Jasper is hoping Santa can bring an envelope with cash that he can just hand it over at the next farrier visit.
Jasper thinks $500 would be a HUGE help and would help get a few hooves trimmed and shod!
THANK YOU to Donna H., Andrea A., Tango S., Mojo S., Irene J., Dianne E., Ginger H., Barbara D., Monica K., Bobbie F., Jill L., and Bonnie L. for helping grant Jasper's farrier wish! $286 more would be a huge help!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
