Gomer is a 28 year old Appaloosa gelding. He and his buddy Gus wandered onto the Bright Futures Farm property over ten tears ago, before it was even Bright Futures Farm. The owners nursed Gus and Gomer back to health, and they remained there when Bev bought the property. Gomer is a kind, gentle old soul, but is still very independent and enjoys the company of his herd. He can no longer chew hay, and, in the winter, when there is no grass, he eats hay pellets, which costs $24 a bag. He'll go through two and a half bags a week, which is $250 a month for the five months of winter. That's $1,250 (gulp!). Can you help Santa make sure that Gomer has hay pellets for at least some of the winter months ahead?
$250 buys one month of pellets. $500 buys two...$750 buys three...$1,000 buy four...and $1,250 will see Gomer through the winter!
THANK YOU to Donna H., Juianne L., Suzanne B., Carrie M., Lori D., Irene J., Tango S., Mojo S., Lisa B., Dianne E., Dustin F., Darlene S., and Jill L. for helping Gomer get his hay pellets onto Santa's sleigh! $161 more would buy two months of pellets!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
