Gomer is an Appaloosa gelding who is over 30 years old. He and his buddy Gus wandered onto the Bright Futures Farm property over ten tears ago, before it was even Bright Futures Farm. The owners nursed Gus and Gomer back to health, and they remained there when Bev bought the property. Gomer is a kind, gentle old soul, but is still very independent and enjoys the company of his herd. Gomer has Cushing's Disease and needs Prascend (pergolide). He also takes Thyro-L for hypothyroidism and Equioxx for the inflammation in his good eye (he is blind in one eye and almost blind in the other).
Can you help Santa make sure that Gomer has enough Equioxx? It's a prescription medication, and a six month supply costs about $300.
$600 would cover Gomer's Equioxx needs for a full year!
THANK YOU to Carrie M., Lori D., Marianne M., France A., Bonnie L.,, Al H., Pat D., Irene J., Katherine W., the Princess Madeleine, Suzanne B., Dianne E., Diane M., and Jill L. for making Gomer's holidays bright! $313 more would bring him a year's supply of Equioxx!
Special Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is a GuideStar Platinum Participant and has been a Great Nonprofit since 2015. Since 2009, our mission has been to provide outstanding 501(c)(3) equine rescue organizations with fundraising opportunities, marketing assistance, educational opportunities, grant assistance and community outreach. The organizations we support are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses in need, and are carefully screened and selected based on their trustworthy reputation, dedication, and excellent service to the animals in their care. Rescuing horses leaves these organizations little time to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and outreach, and it is the mission of Special Horses to help them help equines in need.
